Not even in D.C. yet and I'm already sunburned. I'm so pale and pasty, doesn't take much. In this instance, all it took was about 3 hours or so of direct sunlight, while I helped people register to vote. It was fun though. Mostly my friend Sommer and I just sat around goofing off.

The FMLA has an offshoot campaign called "Get Out Her Vote," but we basically just register everyone we can that wants to do so. I've personally registered about 30 or so people between last Wednesday and today. We have a goal to register about 1000 (about 200 a month) people by the deadline (sometime in October). As long as everyone does their part, I think that it's a pretty easy goal to reach. I'd imagine that in the fall, we're going to be registering TONS of people. I have a goal to go door to door this summer registering people to vote. I hope it's not too overly ambitious.

It's getting pretty hot outside. Today was the first day that actually felt hot enough for me to make a claim about it being "hot." And it's humid as hell too. If I closed my eyes, I could almost imagine that I was down in Houston. The bugs were out too. I guess it's that time of year again.

It's finally starting to sink in that I'm going to D.C. on Friday. I can't wait. Although the March is going to be the highlight of the trip, I'm REALLY looking forward to goofing off in D.C. Can't wait.

I've been on a "pop music" kick recently. But not the N'Sync or Britney Spears variety, but more like Elliott Smith, Aimee Mann, Michael Penn, Weezer, etc. They're all musicians who have really perfected making a nice and tidy 3 or 4 minute pop song. Good stuff. Give it a listen if you ever have the chance.

Not much else going on. Gotta get back to work.

:-)
