'Spiderman 2' is trully one of the great all-time comic book movies ever made. While I place it below 'Superman,' 'Superman 2,' 'X-Men,' 'X2,' and the original 'Spiderman,' 'Spiderman 2' delivers on so many levels that we aren't talking about many degrees of separation between the above movies.

What I really liked about 'Spiderman 2' was that it gave us one of the most emotionally complex superhero movies ever made. Sam Raimi and company paid a lot of extra attention to some really great character development. There have been few times in any superhero movie, where you have cared more about seeing the hero prevail than this movie. At the end, you really find yourself pulling for ol' Spidey.

This isn't your typical superhero movie by any stretch of the word. As a matter of fact, Spiderman as a character isn't even in the movie that much. This movie is solely the story of Peter Parker, and I must say that I have NEVER seen Tobey Maguire better. This is by far his best performance. He really runs the gamut of emotions that honestly, I think he should get a nomination of some kind during awards season. He obviously won't get one because movies like this always get overlooked. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't give a GREAT performance.

My biggest complaint with this movie is that I feel that it's lacking an "oh crap this is awesome" moment. When he finally gets his powers back towards the end of the movie, I wasn't nearly as hyped as I could have been. It seemed almost anti-climatic towards the end.

The villain in this movie is better than the Green Goblin, but the scenes between Green Goblin and Spiderman from the first movie were better than the scenes in this movie.

Overall, it was a pretty kick ass movie. I'd recommend this movie to fans and non-fans alike.

*looks for a wall to climb*
