ROAD RAGE!!!!

Anya and I were sitting at an intersection waiting for a gap in the traffic so that I could make a right and merge onto the I-35 feeder in front of Vista Ridge Mall. For those of you who know Dallas, I'm talking about the LONG feeder that goes right in front of Don Pablos and Macaroni Grill.

Well I'm waiting for a gap in the traffic so that I can make a right. Being the overly cautious driver that I am, I always like to make sure that there is more than enough room for me to make my right turn.

Well the jackass behind me lays into his horn as if I'm just asleep at the wheel. I mean, there was a gap I *could* have gone through, but the car that was coming was coming to fast and I didn't want to risk it. So I wait to make my turn.

I finally get a gap I like and I turn onto the feeder, which starts at 2 lanes but merges into one lane for a couple of yards. Well as I turn, I notice the jackass who layed on his horn tailgating me. And I don't mean just your average tailgating, but the kind when I can practically count how many freckles this guy has. THAT set me off. As he tried to pass me before it went to one lane, I straddled the middle lane so that he couldn't go around. I then dropped my speed from 50 to about 30. So not only would he be forced to be behind me, he'd be forced to travel at a nice leisurely pace. Meanwhile Anya and I are laughing our asses off.

As the lanes went from single to double, I knew that he was going to pass me up. So as he does so, I wave him by with the good ol' one fingered salute. As he passes me, he gets in front of me and drops his speed to a nice 20 miles an hour. No big deal says me, I don't mind driving slow.

But then he starts doing this thing where he's almost making it a point to try and run me off the road. At this point, I'm getting kinda nervous. So I make sure that I'm REALLY close to him so that as soon as he passes a driveway, I turn in. So now he's on this road and can't turn around, and I'm safe and sound in the Don Pablos parking lot. Well I see that jackass turn into a parking lot a couple hundred meters up. So now I'm thinking that this guy either wants to fight or he wants to...do whatever.

So I'm sick of this little game he's playing. So I dial up 9-11 and wait for the cavalry to come. As I'm sitting on the phone with 9-11, I think he saw me on the phone and proceeded to drive off.

We didn't see him for the rest of the night, but Anya and I kept wondering if he was up around some corner waiting for us to come out. We of course knew that the possibilities of such event happening were slim to none. But needless to say, I won't be giving the finger to anyone anytime soon.

;-)
