Before my 2005 balls drop like Dick Clark
time to look back at 2004's mark
where the Yankees got hit out of the park
and I entered a voting book and took a stab in the dark

Like Bush not finding Osama, and the Democrats finding Obama
The Aviator taking flight, Michael Moore's Fahrenheit
Mel Gibson's Passion giving the world gas
and Paul Hamm winning the gold by falling on his ass

Giambi, Sheffield, and Bonds gettin more juiced than O.J.
Kobe rapin women and Artest's fighting disgracing the NBA
Tsunami's washing villages and people away
there was the Ukrainian election foul play
that reminded us all of Florida and Ohio...
...oh you know what i'm going to say

Iraqi Insurgents making sure the Revolution WILL be televised
by taping their attacks, which grow more Supersized
McDonalds is bad for you
duh, but so is "I Love the 80's" part 22.

The Red Sox broke the 1918 Curse
Civil Rights got worse day by day
because homophobes stopping the gay wedding

The election was like an erection infection
speaking of,
how about those Super Bowl commercials about erectile dysfunctions
which far outnumbered certain wardrobe "malfunctions"

time to bid farewell to 2004
a year that, of all things, wasn't a bore
so now what's in store for the year ahead?
same divisiveness between states blue and red
the final Star Wars, more Iraqi dead
Martha Stewart's prison release
more badly behaved athletes,
activists fighting for peace

more of the same
and a few things more
but before that starts, there's still a few hours more
to enjoy the good/bad ol 2004
