Nothing quite like 4 hours of sleep and an early morning of work after a long break to.....

*snooze*

Sorry bout that. Ummmm....so what's new?

Christmas was alright I suppose. Parts of it were really great, and parts of it were pretty blah. Such is life. I guess a brief rundown is in order.

After getting pelted by Dallas snow on Dec. 22nd, Anne and I headed down to Houston to see the Houston family. The trip was pretty quick, with lots to do. I didn't get to do as much as I may have liked, but I did have a good time. We took Jay and Jacob bowling, had a good time with Karen, ate lots, got some parent-sponsored clothes shopping done, and opened a gift or two.

We had fun bowling with the kids, and hope to take other nephews and nieces bowling or skating sometime. :-)

It SNOWED in Houston on Christmas. SNOWED. IN HOUSTON! And I don't mean just a few specks. GALVESTON...LET ME REPEAT THAT....GALVESTON....THREE MORE TIMES...GALVESTON GALVESTON GALVESTON GOT ABOUT 5-7 INCHES OF SNOW. The news had all these clips of people making snow people on the beach. Bizarre. Part of me was saying, "oh cool, snow in a place where its never snowed," while the other half of me was saying "let's hear it for global warming." hahahhahahaha

My beard is starting to drive me crazy. It is the longest it has ever been. I have a goal not to shave it til school starts. Don't ask me why I have that goal, because there is no logical reason other than the fact that I just wanted to see how long I could go without shaving. To date, it's been since sometime late November.

I haven't done NEARLY as much reading or writing as I would have liked this break. I did manage to finally read John Steinbeck's "The Pearl" over the break. Glad to see that I'm finally reading the books that all the smart kids of my high school read, while I got stuck reading abbreviated versions of "The Crucible." Catching up's been a bitch.

Not much else going on here. Well, actually lots going on. More to come later. :-)

matt out
