no spoilers below:

The Episode III soundtrack leaked to the internet a few days ago. I debated listening to it for a couple of days, until Anya convinced me that I should wait to hear it until the movies come out. That almost worked until the need to hear some new SW music overtook any sense of reasoning that my brain was trying to perform. So as a compromise, I didn't download the entire soundtrack and only downloaded 3 songs to get a "taste" of what John Williams has in store for us. It is after all, the music that I'm almost looking more forward to than the movie itself. Even though some feel that Lucas has dropped the ball with previous movies, John Williams rarely (if ever) drops the ball.

The three songs that I downloaded are amazing. AMAZING. From the three songs that I heard, I can almost safely say that this will be Williams' best Star Wars soundtrack. The coolest track I heard was the music for Obi Wan and Anakin's duel. Big, brassy, loud chorus, the Imperial Theme played periodically throughout (much like it was during Luke/Vader duel in "The Empire Strikes Back"), and ultimately VERY dark.

The other tracks are really incredible as well. I won't give away the track titles because they could be seen as potential spoilers, but it's really good stuff y'all. Very otherworldly.

I have a feeling that this movie is going to be really good. The music only helps cement this hope. It's incredible.

matt out
