So what the f--- is up with Tom Cruise recently? You know, the more I read about Scientology, the more I become convinced that it's nothing but a cult. All that's missing in the drinking of the Kool-Aid.

*in rushes the Kool-Aid man*

"OH YEAH!"

It's a shame that Tom Cruise of all people would get duped with all this stuff. I mean, sure, we can probably all agree that there is a problem of overmedication, especially with kids, in our society. But come on, there are people who would not be able to function in society without proper medication.

And with all this Katie Holmes stuff...I've had it up to here with Tom Cruise.

But with all that being said, I'm REALLY looking forward to "War of the Worlds." The early reviews have been magnificent. I can't wait to see what Spielberg has in store for us. I mean, he hasn't made an outright scary movie since "Jaws," so I think he's due. But even "Jaws" and "Jurassic Park" had that sense of fun and excitement that kept it from being too scary.

I'm expecting greatness, and like "Batman Begins," I'm almost certain that I won't be disappointed. We'll see if my expectations are met in the same way that they were for "Batman Begins."

"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" looks to be a really cool movie. The Tim Burton and Johnny Depp combination have really become one of those legendary match-ups that rank up there with De Niro/Scorsese.

"The Fantastic Four" looks like it could go either way. I must say that "The Fantastic Four" is one of those comic books that I never really "got." The X-Men seem to have done the unique power thing better. The Thing, in the previews anyway, doesn't *look* right. Neither does Dr. Doom for that matter. There's something about putting these heroes on screen, it can go either way. For every costume that looks good on screen (Batman Begins, Spiderman, Superman) there are the ones that don't (Spawn, The Thing, Dr. Doom, Mr. Freeze) But we'll see.

That's it for now. I'm running on fumes here folks.
