Monday Came Too Quickly...

Seems like the weekend just flew by. Time flies when you're with family.

My weekend seemed to have started last Wednesday when I went down to Farmer's Branch to see my aunt, and all of the family that came in to see her. Over the course of the weekend, I think I saw every single person on the Fulmer side of the equation at least once. It was a joy to see and catch up with everyone.

I hope that the visiting family was enough to raise Aunt Sherry's spirits. At the end of the day, that's all I can really hope for her. She seemed to be doing well when family was around, but when everyone left, she seemed to decline somewhat rapidly. She did do a lot of smiling this weekend, and that can be nothing but a good sign that she was in good spirits.

She really lightened up around her great nieces and nephews. Having so much young life in the house seemed to do wonders on her spirits.

-----------------------------------------------------------

This weekend was really interesting. It seemed like a family reunion of sorts, but there was always the specter of sadness hanging around everything. I could never fully get into anything I was doing this weekend, nor did I really want to for that matter.

Over the course of the weekend, I was fortunate enough to see all of my siblings, their signficant others, and their offspring. It really is amazing that all of my siblings and I are getting older. I do think I have more grey hair than any of them, however.

Any healthy eating that I've done over the past couple of weeks seems to have disappeared this weekend. Seems that whenever we get together, we do our fair share of eating. Not that I'm complaining mind you, but just stating a simple fact of family life.

I fear that I've corrupted my niece and nephew in the ways of the Jedi. They're out and out SW fans now, but there's still hope that they'll live nice, normal and happy lives. There's always hope. A new hope that is... ;-) It was fun having lightsaber duels in the front yard. Wataa JeanObi really kicked my butt all over the place. She's strong in the ways of the Jedi. I gladly gave them some of my SW toys. I'm glad that someone is going to get to use them and that they're not just up in a box somewhere. Toys are meant to be played with. They're both growing like weeds, both physically and mentally. I'll need to get back to work on that magic, anti-growing serum.

It was really cool being able to see the Revfamily. I kept forgetting that they were at 3.5 members strong, instead of the 3 members that it appears at first glance. I guess in another month or so, it will be a little more obvious. I don't know if I'll ever fully come to grips that my sisters are mothers, but they're probably the best mothers I've ever seen. I guess that's what happens when they're taught by one of the all-time greats. I was also glad that the little one started to warm up to me. She's at a really fun age right now.

Can't think of anything else to write. More to come later.
