Looks like another gem from Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition), and a knock out of the park by all the actors involved, Jake Gyllenhaal in particular. Can't wait to see Jamie Fox in his first *real* post-"Ray" work. Chris Cooper also looks great.

It looks like a pretty accurate portrayal of Marine Corps life, yet also seems to have much of the dark humor that made "American Beauty" so great, and what the also awesome "Road to Perdition" sorely lacked.

It looks like it's going to be a powerful movie. I purchased the book the other day, so I'll let you know how the book is once it's read.
