Operation Unemployed Matthew continues as scheduled. I WILL find a job soon, this I know. For the Bible tells me so.

You see, the problem with having a nest egg, (as teeny tiny as it is, it has afforded me more than a month of unemployment, and could reach a couple months ahead of itself) is that it only goes down. There is no leveling. I guess calling it a nest egg is a bit of a misnomer. It's more of a "Hey, I have some money in my checking that can cover rent, bills, food, and occasional movie."

I refer to this era of my life as my Fat Jim Morrison stage. Bearded. Belly not getting smaller. Reading poetry. etc.

My friend Jace came into town this past weekend. It was great to see him and catch up with one of my great friends. Almost as good as seeing Jace, was his arrival spurred Anya and I to actually get out and explore this city called "Austin." So while Jace was here, we saw Lakeshore park (I think that is what it's called), the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue, Chuy's, Kerbey Lane, almost the Alamo Drafthouse, and of course, SIXTH Street.

Sixth Street is cool, but I'm not really into the loud bar thing. I like quiet places where I can talk with my friends. I hate having to negotiate my head away from ESPN on the big screens, while yelling conversations to my friends. That's not the recipe for a good time.

Anywho...

I gotta git.

more later.

matt out
