The Job Hunt

So far, I'm still without a job. I've had a lot of interviews, including two yesterday, but haven't heard anything definite from any of them. Well, I did hear back from AMD Processors about a Tech. Writing Job. Apparently, they want to hire me, but the corporate headquarters has put the position on a freeze, so here I sit.

The job I'm most interested in is the Administrative Associate position with the Gender and Sexuality Center on the UT Campus. It basically seems like a hybrid of my last job as Administrative Assistant with the College of Education and my role in the FMLA. I'd be in charge of coordinating Student Volunteers, ensuring that the Center is running smoothly, assist the director in anything that she needs, and even a little campus outreach. Quite honestly, I don't think there is anyone more qualified for this position than I am, yet I may not be what they're looking for so I'm not getting my hopes up *too* much. The good thing is that I was one of two finalists to get a second interview, which I attended yesterday in my new snazzy pinstripe suit. I feel that I did really well in the interview, so we're now once again in the waiting game.

I also had an interview yesterday with the Financial Aid Office about a position. The interview went well...yeah, I'm in that waiting game as well. I'm getting a lot better at this interviewing thing, so I hope that more and more interesting positions present themselves.

I REALLY want to work on the UT campus. It's close to the the apartment, which would be great for my daily routine of more exercise. Plus, I really get a kick out of the Academic Sector. Being around all these young people helps keep me young. ;-)

The waiting game continues...
