Warner Bros. just signed Heath Ledger to star as the Joker in "The Dark Knight," the sequel to last year's "Batman Begins." I think it's an interesting choice, especially considering Robin Williams really wanted to role. Robin Williams would have been an interesting choice, but maybe they wanted to shy away from someone who would take over the movie in the same way that Jack Nicholson did in Tim Burton's "Batman."

But yeah, an interesting choice indeed. Heath Ledger was so impressive in "Brokeback Mountain," that I'm looking forward to seeing him play a character that is so radically different than Ennis. I think he's going to be able to "bring it" so to speak.

On a side note, I hope that they take the Joker down a new path this time. Although probably against the mythology of the character, I'd like to see a Joker that has to put on the clown makeup, instead of someone who is permanently scarred by some kind of Axis chemical. I think it'd be more psychologically scary and menacing to see a character who willingly transforms himself into this wacked out clown man. It'd fit more into the "real world" approach put forth in the first movie.

Oh, and "Dark Knight" is a bad ass title.

peace and love
