Friday Five: Renewal

as always, I took this idea from my sister's site:

List four ways you like to relax or give yourself a break. Then name a fifth, something you’ve never been able to do, a self-care dream.

1. Sleeping outside on a nice day. Doesn't matter if it's on a bench, under a tree, or on a hammock, nothing recharges the 'ol batter faster than a good nap outside. For extra measure, a good lunch of BBQ or Tex-Mex before the nap puts me in a state of bliss.

2. Going to the movies and pigging out on popcorn, soda, and Milk Duds. As much as I love a good Oscar contender, I like a good popcorn flick to get me relaxed and in a good mood.

3. Going on a walk. I like a good walk around town. I enjoy going with and without my iPod. When I'm in the mood to get outside and enjoy the sights and sounds of my environment, I go without. When I want to get outside and enjoy the lyrical stylings of John Lennon or Beck, I go with.

4. Going to the park and throwing a frisbee or football. Just thinking about doing this makes me feel relaxed, that's how much I enjoy doing it.

4.5 Going to Barton Springs and taking a dip in the cool, spring-fed waters.

5. Hiking through the mountains. I love being outside in the mountains, although I am a tad bit afraid of heights, so this can be a bit of a tricky "relaxation" method for me. But nothing beats a good hike through the Rockies.
