Blow Pops vs Tootsie Roll Pops

If you're basing this off of taste, I think the taste of the Tootsie Pop shell trumps the shell of the Blow Pop. The Tootsie Roll Pop shell is a little more substantial in construction, almost to the point of being waxy, while the Blow Pop shell is a little more transparent and flimsy, which makes for a quicker eat time.

But of course, you don't buy Blow Pops and Tootsie Roll Pops solely for the outside shell. No, then it'd be your garden variety Lolli Pop. You buy Tootsie Roll Pops and Blow Pops for the treat inside.

I enjoy gum over tootsie rolls 9 times out of 10, yet there's nothing quite like the mix of Tootsie Roll Pop shell and Tootsie Roll when it's mixed in your mouth. Yet the crunched Blow Pop shell tastes great as its pulverized out of the soft gum in your mouth. It's too bad that the gum's flavor and softness doesn't last longer than a few moments.

The X factor in all of this is what happens when you leave either Pop in your mouth without crunching down on it like that asshole Owl did in the commercial. If you take the Pops down to their candied goodness, I think I prefer discovering gum over a lump of Tootsie Roll. Without the use of teeth and on a long enough timeline, the Tootsie Roll Pop devolves into something resembling turd on a stick.

Despite this relatively minor x-factor, I have come to my conclusion and I hereby declare Tootsie Roll Pops to be the superior sticked double whammy.

my four cents for this Friday
