You can pretty much cut and paste this post into a new post and you'll have my thoughts on last night's ass whooping.

I still don't know what to think of this series. When LeBron attacks, he either scores or gets fouled. And sometimes, just sometimes, they manage to look kinda okay as a team. I'm not sure why, if you're LeBron, you don't just attack the basket every single damn time you get the ball. Put Duncan, Oberto, Horry, Elson, and Bowen into foul trouble...I got nuthin...

But the point still stands, he needs to drive the basket more. Granted, I don't think it's going to be enough. As I've said and as the Spurs demonstrated for 3 rounds of Playoffs basketball, they're content to let one person score 25-40 points a game, they're just going to make the rest of your team beat you. And right now, NO ONE on the Cavs is stepping up to the plate in any significant way.

This may change, but the impression the first two games have given me is of my cat when it's fucking around with a cockroach. The cat's going to win, obviously, but it gives the cockroach just enough time to think that it has a chance. And just when the cockroch thinks it has a shot at survival, the cat tires of batting it around and buries it in the kittie litter.

Because as well as the Spurs have played, their entire team has yet to show up. Brent Barry has yet to do anything of any significance. He's clunking 3's that he normally drains with regularity. I'm not sure if some of the supporting member's lack of production is due to the Big 3 doing so much that it takes everyone else out of their game, of if it's due to Michael Finley remembering that he's not a Dallas Maverick anymore.

Whatever the case, I'd like to see the Spurs put forward a true team effort before this series concludes. As much as I enjoy watching a blowout, I'm not used to watching the Spurs play that way. Truth be told, I think I'd enjoy a good ol fashioned Spurs game that comes down to the final 2 minutes of a 89-86 scored game.

Final thoughts:

- If the Finals ended last night, I would choose Duncan as the MVP, though a SOLID case could be made for both Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. Parker is the catalyst that makes everything happen and Ginobili is the player that keeps the ball rolling, but Duncan is the constant. And truth be told, he's the best player on the floor when you take both Defense and Offense into account.

- If the Finals ended last night, despite my blog vote, Parker would win the MVP. The man's been playing out of his head recently. Guards his size aren't supposed to play amongst the bigs in the paint. It's like the Lord of the Rings and Frodo's hanging tough with the humans and elves. <---- geek

that's all i got folks...thoughts?
