Slowly but surely, I've been making my way through 3+ seasons of Battlestar Galactica in hopes of catching up with the show when it resumes in October for its fourth and final season.

BSG is amazing. It's highly political, but not heavy handedly so. It's intelligently written Sci-Fi, but not pretentiously so. It's well acted, well directed, and well written.

Beyond the Sci-Fi elements, I really love the politics of the show and especially love that the show's politics aren't easily categorized. There are things that people on the left, right, and center will all love...and HATE.

As anyone who reads my blog knows, I'm a *huge* LOST fan. I still think LOST is more my cup of tea, but they're equally brilliant shows. I think that BSG is a little more accurate in how people would react to the situations they're placed in, but LOST is vastly superior in it's person to person relationships. BSG has a lot of talk about God, or "the Gods," but I think LOST does a better job at understanding God...I'll make a post about it someday.

Look, I can compare LOST and BSG all day long. That's not the point of this post.

For those of you looking for highly engaging television that completely blows the doors off of any Sci-Fi that's come out (movie or tv) in the past 5 years, BSG is your show...and no, I don't consider LOST to be Sci-Fi.
