A Little Theological Help Here...

So Anya and I just caught the last few minutes of "The Nativity Story" on HBO. It doesn't seem like it's really all that great a movie, but it did get me thinking about an important theological question. Or maybe it's not so much a question as it is an observation.

I know that to most people I've spoken with, Easter is a bigger deal than Christmas. I guess the thinking is that Good Friday and Easter are more important because it's when Jesus died to save people from their sins. <--- simplistic, I know.

But to a non-Christian such as myself, Christmas is the bigger holiday. To me, it's more important that a messenger of peace came to this world than it is that he left it.

To me, Jesus' death has more to do with reunification with God and eternal salvation, and that isn't as interesting to me as the arrival of the messenger.

Thoughts?
