HA!

Anyone else catch NBC's Golden Globes...thing that they had last night? How weird and seemingly pointless was that?

I think it's a bit funny that a 3.5 hour show can be reduced to 1 hour. So I guess the real question is why even do an awards shows in the first place. Is Hollywood such an ego driven place that they feel the need to do TWO 3+ hour shows to celebrate their accomplishments?

I'm half joking. Lord knows, I enjoy my 3+ hour award shows.

I think the WGA picket of the Golden Globes begs the question, just how valuable is the Golden Globes? When it comes to the Oscars, are the actors going to be so resolute in not crossing the picket line? It's one thing to pass up on winning a Golden Globe, but the Oscars? Shit, I bet even the nominated writers would show up to the Academy Award ceremony.

As I just said, Hollywood's an ego driven place. And an Oscar is an Oscar. I almost hope the strike goes on long enough for me to see how this plays out. But honestly, I think this thing is going to end sooner rather than later. From what I've read, both sides seem to be feeling it pretty hard.
