Now that's a good character episode. After last week's weak character driven storyline, it was good to see the LOST people get back on track with a character episode that had everything you've come to expect from LOST. I'm not saying it was a great episode, but it was a really, really good one. And at the end of the day, have Jin and Sun ever had a bad episode?

I felt that both Daniel Dae Kim and Yunjin Kim were great in this episode. If anyone from LOST deserves an Emmy nomination this year, it's Yunjin (Sun). She really had a wonderful episode last night. Had moments of humor, anger, betrayal, and sadness. And she played them all brilliantly.

I'm still not completely sold on the flash-forward format. Without the context of knowing what happened to Jin, I felt that last night's final scene at the graveyard lacked some of the emotional impact it might have had otherwise. There's a debate on whether Jin's still on the island or not. I don't think they'd go to the grave site if he were still on the island, but I have been wrong before.

That being said, last night's episode all but confirmed that the rest of this season is going to be sad sad SAD. What happens to Claire? What happens to Jin? What happens to the rest of the castaways?

I have a feeling that next week's episode is going to be a transitional episode. These first few 7 episodes have really done a great job at setting things up. I have a feeling that this next episode (the last filmed before the strike) is going to serve as the final set-up and the start of the payoff for the final episodes of the season. God, I can't wait.

The re-introduction of Michael wasn't as climactic as the producers would have liked, but what did they expect when they made the announcement that Michael was coming back to the show? And his name has been in the opening credits all season, so it wasn't much of a surprise.

That being said, I thought they handled his re-introduction well. They handled it so well that it even opens some questions. Does he even know who he is? Where's Walt? WALT??? Some fans have even speculated that Michael...or Kevin Johnson is actually a grown up Walt. Not sure about that last one, but it is interesting.

I also liked all of the stuff with the freighter people. They're really growing on me in a creepy kind of way. What exactly is going on on that boat? Why are people getting so stir-crazy?

Can't wait for next week.

- Matt
