Alright, I'm officially pumped up for the new Indiana Jones movie. It only took...oh, about 20 years, but I'm officially jazzed about seeing Indiana Jones on screen again.

I thought that the 3rd movie (my second favorite in the franchise) was a perfect way to end the series, so I was highly skeptical when I read that they were making a fourth movie. Why? What more needs to be said about Indiana Jones? Can they really top the big truck or tank vs horse chase scenes from the first and third movies? Can they top the heart ripping out scene? Bugs, rats, and snakes. What else is there to see?

Well, as of last night, I'm officially pumped. Somewhere in that fuzzy netherworld between consciousness and sleep, I had a quick image in my head of Indiana Jones riding through a jungle accompanied by that classic John Williams scored Raiders theme playing in my head. Maybe it was my subconscious trying to reassure me that Harrison, Lucas, Williams, and Spielberg will be able to pull magic out of a hat again.

But let me tell you right now that there is no cooler screen image that exists in cinema than Indiana Jones coming in to save the day. I guess a case can be made for seeing Bond in an Aston Martin with accompanying Bond music, but I think at the end of the day, I'm more of an Indiana Jones person.

Bond, with his gadgets, cars, and uber coolness, is pretty awesome. But I'll take whip cracks, Ben Burtt enhanced punching sound effects, the Raiders March, an appropriately placed Wilhelm, and Nazi face melts any day of the week.

Can't wait.
