I had a good father's day this past weekend. Our original plan was to go down to Houston, but we opted out of that plan since Parker had recently been feeling so ill. So we instead went down to San Antonio so that we could have an extra hand or two assistance.

It's a good thing we went down to San Antonio because in some shape or form, the whole family got sick. Parker continued to get better but was never 100%, I got the aches and a headache/sore throat combo, and Anya got the full package of high fever, cough, runny nose, etc.

Since I was the least sick parent, I got to do most of the baby wrangling all weekend, which gave us some good bonding time.

But other than that, it was a pretty good Father's day.

The weekend really hit home just how hard parenting can be. If Parker gets sick, then it probably means that either Anya or I will end up getting sick as well. I guess parenting can sometimes feel like the Bataan death march. It's a long march, but you have no choice but to keep going.
