Jeffery Katzenberg (of Disney and Dreamworks fame) recently dropped some information that Lucas is indeed going ahead with a re-re-re-re-re-release of all 6 SW movies in a ground-breaking 3-D format that's supposed to be unlike any other 3-D technology that's ever been created. It's supposed to be crisp to the point that it puts you into the movie that you're watching in a way that's never been possible before. They're supposedly going to do this to a lot of movies, including such classics as "Casablanca" and the "Godfather" films.

I'm as big a Star Wars nerd as they come, but I have to admit that I'm just getting tired of Star Wars being everywhere. I've come to realize that "Star Wars" is a dish that's best to have every so often, instead of one that just never goes away. One of the reasons why the prequels worked for me was the fact that it had been 20 years since the last original SW movie had come out. So it felt fresh. The movies were a bit hit and miss, but fresh they were.

But I do find myself adding my voice to the ever present chorus of people who wish that they would just give Star Wars a rest for a while. The cow's run dry. The milk's not that great. I'm not even sure I want to see the new "Clone Wars" animated movie at all until it's on HBO or something.

Dear. Lucas. Just give me the Blu-Ray versions of the SW movies then go away for a long, long time. Just put down the SW Universe and walk away. Do it. You'll feel better. I'll feel better. It's a win-win.

- Matt
