Jesus H Christ, I'm really digging Metallica's latest, "Death Magnetic." Thanks to a massive hookup from my mom, I've been jamming out all day to Metallica's latest on my iTunes at work.

I never thought I'd ever say this, but Metallica has made another great album that belongs right alongside "Master of Puppets," "Ride the Lightning," and "And Justice For All."I kid you not, this is Metallica back to its thrash roots.

"Master of the Puppets" and "And Justice for All" are the best of the best and will never find an equal, but I place "Death Magnetic" above "Ride the Lightning" and maybe even "The Black Album." To me, it sounds like the album that should have bridged the gap between their thrash metal days and their "new" sound days.

And I'm completely serious about making producer Rick Rubin a saint. I mean, it's downright miraculous how many times he's brought back bands and artists from the dead. Johnny Cash, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Beastie Boys should work with him again.
