My day so far:
* 1 nasty nightmare
* 4 hours of copyediting
* 1 church service
* 1 committee meeting
* 1 drain unclogged
* 1 schlep to the grocery store
* 2 sets of presents purchased
* progress with 2 plotbunnies
* actually remembering to check the Titans calendar before getting into the car (huzzah for an office this side of town)

This morning's hymns included "Green," Peter Mayer's re-setting of "People, Look East," which we sang this morning with Peter and assorted church instrumentalists (cello, bass, piano, drums), with the choir swelling into a descant during the later verses. The third verse got me:

True, death may raise its voice today
O, but life will have its say
Speaking in lovers and in children
In poet's pens and philospher's visions
Life is a planet's daring dream
Earth's devotion, spoken in green.

[You can view Peter performing this as an acoustic solo at YouTube. He's both sweet and charismatic in person, and he's performing tonight at First UU Nashville at 7:30 p.m.]
