[Well, not really, but I was just reading about Mr. Stevens...]

You know you're three-syllable tahrrrred ("tired" to you non-Southerners) when you almost pour the coffee beans straight into the filter instead of the grinder. *facepalm*

Still, good things abound:

* fresh coffee (a gift from qrssama earlier this year)
* chunks of fresh mango with oatmeal
* new poem up at 7x20
* Dennis Stone, awesome professional voiceover guy. Seriously - if you need a solid baritone narrator of anything, hire Dennis. (He's also a major hockey fan, which just adds to his coolness quotient.)
* assorted new notes from friends, to be answered...
* once I wrap up current stage of two major projects, both of which have milestones I intend to hit tonight.
* Emily Arnold McCulhy's Mirette on the High Wire, a lovely picture book set in 19th century Paris that won the Caldecott Medal in 1993 (the mid-early 90s were a really good run for that prize, come to think of it: the 1992 winner was David Wiesner, who's an incredible illustrator (he also won in 2002 for what may be my favorite version of The Three Pigs, and the 1994 winner was Allen Say for Grandfather's Journey).

And on that note, I'm off to grind some ink and measure out some paper for a commission, and that too is a very good thing.
