So, much of my Sunday ended up being encounters with Brasington's Ninth Law ("A carelessly planned project takes three times longer to complete than expected; a carefully planned one will take only twice as long"), but I did get through a good part of the grocery shopping. The haul included a pound of shrimp, which led to me admiring how the heap of shells caught the light...
...enroute to becoming a couple pints of shrimp stock:
As for the shrimp itself....
...I stir-fried it with minced shallots....
...and then added leftover rice and leftover turkey chili. Voila -- budget paella! (Shrimp + shallots < $3 total)
