Things making me a trifle cross at the moment:

* leaky bathroom ceiling
* allergic reaction to something I touched or ate yesterday. (Quite possibly the squid salad I made for myself, sigh. Or the loaf of bread I just threw out because it was covered in a layer of green dust.)
* mildew stain on a mattress pad
* too many things on my list ahead of writing letters and studying French

Things that have made me happy or giggly since I last posted:

* a high school friend and his wife stopping by for lunch
* good feedback from client re: deliverable
* sending e-mails with rude subject headers to a friend about Marat Safin's new pussycat
* playing lots of ABBA and Gerald de Palmas and Marc Lavoine while I work and clean
* CMApocalypse bingo
* I can walk or drive in the opposite direction to get the yeast I'll need for making bao
* receiving payment for The Wailing Well
* science photos in the UChicago alumni magazine. It turns out that methane-digesting enzymes are gorgeous.
