There's a Pink Trash Ball in my 'hood this weekend. Miz O and I agreed that while it sounded like a good time for a good cause, there was a significant hitch -- neither of us liked the thought of having to buy something pink just for the 'do.

Me: Tell you what -- I'll hit Joann's on Monday, bring home a bunch of crafty things we can doll ourselves up in, and then when we're done, we'll donate the whole lot to LP Pencil Box.

I did stop by Joann's, but there's now a slight change of plan: I like this pink camo corduroy and satin enough I'm gonna keep 'em for myself. (I'll wear them as a sarong and headband on Saturday, and then commission one of my sewing-competent friends to transform them into a miniskirt, apron, scrunchies, and/or napkins and placemats.)

Y'all need to thank your stars I'm so keen on the camo, because my alternate plan was to show up in a pink-flowered bikini and strategically placed Hello Kitty stickers:

Speaking of stars, I also picked up four yards of this calico. Miz O, if you so choose, this is for you to convert into a toga or cape or whatevs:

For accessories: 20 yards of pink organza ribbon, a sheet of glittery stickers, and two foam tiaras.

For his part, the Beautiful Young Man has been muttering about spray-painting a pair of tennies and finding a fuschia wig. Hee!
