In which things get Really Hectic for Our Hero:

I'm tired -- a given these days, so barely even worth mentioning, really -- but excited about what's to come in the next few days.

I've got about a million loose ends to tie up before Monday: three novel chapters to revise for the mainstream novel before I send 'em to a prospective agent, a short story to revise the snot out of and send to a prospective editor, five chapters to rough out in the SF novel, 10 stories to crit, a fence to pain (well, maybe just the GATE to the fence), a writing group to attend, and a first chapter to revamp before diving into the rest of the novel for the NaNoWrimo challenge.

That's about all. Plus finish up a chapter for the manual for the tech writing job (yawn) and help Lizzie cook for a party she's hosting on Saturday, and taking a trip to Chapel Hill to meet friends for breakfast Sunday morning.

Man. This is turning into a laundry list journal entry. Sorry!

Big hoorah to writing buds Scott, Jeff, and Derek for doing the NaNo challenge as well! Cool. Anyone else doing it? 50k in 30 days, no problem. You can do it. Starts tomorrow! (I'm cheating and not starting 'til Monday, since I have about 4,500 words already written on my NaNo novel -- so there!).

And now, the last bit on my ToDo List: SLEEP. Laterrrrr.

Now Playing:
"Stag," Amy Ray

Today's Quote:
“You’re taking a big step backwards, here, you know that, don’t you?”

John shrugged. “Maybe. But it’s still a step. It’s still moving, you know?”

Her face had gone cold at his words, and they had driven home in silence.

Two days later he had packed everything he owned into his car at five in the morning, slipping out the day after his lease expired. Nobody had been there to see him off, his car so full of his belongings from his apartment that he could see only slivers of light from the side and rear windows.
