Another Quickie...

Oh man, just wanted to log in quick while our guests are still recovering from last night!

Cathi and Paul arrived yesterday in the early afternoon, and Lizzie picked them up while I finished up my last day as a contractor (for now) at TRG. I hated not being there to pick them up, but I had to do my time (next week will be LOVELY, only working 2 jobs!), but Lizzie kept 'em busy, walking the dog and hiking around the dam and feeding them soup. She's such a good southern lady with her hostessing skills.

I got home around 4:30 or so, and we hung out, catching up, and then we went to Raleighwood to catch "The Bourne Identity" (we're trying not to spend TOO much money, y'know?). Great flick! Much better than I'd expected. I liked it better than my buddy Todd did at the News and Observer. I loved the European settings and the car chase in the Mini! Wahoo! The Esquart may have met its match in that car! A great plot, with a surprisingly un-annoying performance by Matt Damon, with the added benefit of "Run Lola Run"'s Franka Potente as his unwilling co-conspirator with guts of her own.

Afterwards, we did karoake. Yes, karoake. We headed over to McCann's Harp and Fiddle (so nice to be able to WALK someplace, and not have to drive from one site to another), and they were having karaoke with these two sorta sad folks, who were forced to do all the singing themselves because no one in the audience would participate.

I got tired of the guy muffing all the Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots song, so I got Cathi to sing and then I sang, and pretty soon Lizzie was singing too! Cathi did some obscure-ass Donna Summer song with the most bizarre lyrics (the one that goes "Someone left the cake out -- in the rain!") and I of course sang "Just a Gigolo" and lizzie sang Wynona's "I Saw the Light in Your Window Tonight" and looked "right sexy" up there singing.

We had a ball. Today it's the Hawkeye game and drag bingo. We know how to party here in Raleigh, North Carolina!

Later!
