'Round the House, Almost 'Round the Bend

All right, it's getting late, I'm tired as crap, but I got everything pretty much drafted out. Chapters 22 and 23 are really, really rough. Almost all telling, no drama or nice writing, just the facts. I'm gonna go over those tomorrow morning, and then the completed novel is 1) going out to any of my first readers who'd like to read this 105,000-word tome and 2) getting put away until late February so I can clear my head and work on some other projects.

I'd be jumping for joy, but I'm too tired. As I've said before, I've had these Wannoshay aliens in my head for 6 and 1/2 years, so it's nice putting a resolution down of paper for them. And the ending I have is pretty good. It needs some major tweaking, but it's almost there.

It's been a very good weekend -- some nice closures on various projects, including this Wannoshay novel most of all. I like closure. Closure is good. And now I'm gonna try to read a page or two of Neil Gaiman's novel before the closure of my tired eyes. Later!

Today's Quote:
Shontera turned off all the lights and took a bottle of champagne onto their back deck overlooking the Atlantic. The moonlight painted shifting white stripes across the waves, and the rumble of the tide filled her with a peace she hadn’t ever felt before in her life. She lifted the bottle and toasted the night sky. It was going to be a wonderful year.
