No more head-down writing...

All righty-then. Got the touchup on my SF novel done, at last. I'm overnighting it this afternoon, and should arrive in Cali-for-nee-ay tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning. Whew. Talk about keeping your head down and just WRITING.

Nothing like four days of non-stop revising on the novel, plus you can add one more day to that for Saturday, when I did a major revision of three of my stories. My eyeballs are buggin'!

What do people use for final word count? If I use MS Word's wordcount, I have about 98,000 words. If I use the 250 words/page times # of pages formula, I have about 110,000. I like the latter version, myself. Thoughts? Discuss!

On a related note, thanks to Susan for her comments on January 28th (the 11.55 entry) about my first Wannoshay story to appear at Strange Horizons, "Crossing the Camp." Susan does a weekly list of Strange Horizons-past, and I've been looking forward to when she gets to one of mine, and I was extremely happy by what she said. It's always cool when a top editor at one of the best markets out there for short fiction shows that she really, truly got what I'd intended in my story.

Okay, my poor DeskJet printer is gasping through my last few pages of my manuscript (439 pages!). Gotta run. Have a good one! I'm off to the post office... Later!
