Back in Black(beard)

Hey hey, now we're talking. I finally was able to rework chapter 1 in the Blackbeard novel so it meets with my high standards of excellence. In other words, the sentences actually make sense and there's some sense of order to the paragraphs. Now THAT's progress!

I think I've got all the back-history done on my villain, the "gentleman pirate" known as Stede Bonnet, who actually (in my version of history) turns out to be a bit more of a lunatic than ol' Blackbeard. So my novel has three -- count 'em -- three ghosties. Poltergoosts. Spooks.

So just step back and watch that word count ratchet up and up. Yeehoo. Later!

Today's Quote:
Ella Simon had been traveling all day so she could meet some guy named Mitch. She’d come all the way from Boston, her car packed full of her computers, her scuba gear, her clothes, and her university’s expensive equipment, looking for him. She’d driven as far east as she could go, arriving at North Carolina’s Outer Banks and riding for half an hour on a ferry to meet this stranger. Some guy that she’d be spending most of her time with for the next few months. Ella was here to meet Mitch the Divemaster.

The first problem was, she didn’t know what Mitch the Divemaster looked like. The second problem was, the small patch of land surrounded on three sides by the ocean, the sound, and the ferry dock, was completely deserted.
