Day Three -- slowing down a touch.

Oy, the words, they came not so easily tonight. But I managed to put together most of a scene of my two main characters, Ella and Mitch, talking about ghosts and shipwrecks and drinking beer, lots of good character moments, so that was fun.

Probably would've got more done, but I had to get a story ready to send out again after another rejection -- I think that's 5 for this week, though I do have one acceptance (to be named later, once I'm done revising) to show for this hectic week as well.

I'm feeling good about the progress of the novel. I think it's a good idea to write a novel fairly quickly, same as a story, to keep the ideas fresh. I plan on finishing up my remaining other story/screenplay projects this weekend, so I can focus totally on the novel for the rest of the month (yeah, I know I've said that before...).

Now check out my wordage for the year -- cracked 50k already! Woo hoo!!! Later...

Today's Quote:
“Help her?” Ella stared at Mitch for a second, and then she picked up her bottle of beer. After swallowing a long pull, she said, “How do you help someone who’s been dead since 1718?”

“Just hear me out. Obviously there’s some vital link between her and the other ghost -- this Stede Bonnet guy. I mean, that’s how ghosts work, you know? They haunt a place until the wrong that was done to them is righted.” Mitch stopped and scratched at the stubble on his check. “Wait. I think that’s how it works. Crap. Melissa knows all the ghost rules.”

“Ghost rules?” Ella’s bottle of beer was now empty.
