Graduated!

Well, I feel like I'm starting to finally recover from Friday. I took the day off work so I could go with Elizabeth to her all-day graduation/final presentation day in Chapel Hill. She's done with all her classwork for her Master's in Occupational Therapy, and all she has to do now is a three-month fieldwork this summer.

We watched a bunch of presentations by her classmates, and Elizabeth's presentation was of course kick-ass, and she fielded lots of tough questions from her professors, and then we went to the Carolina Inn to kick back with a drink before the graduation ceremony.

At the ceremony, Elizabeth was honored with the Marlys Mitchell Pioneer Award, one of only two awards given at the ceremony, for her hard work with her classmates and her leadership. I can't even begin to say how proud of her I am, and how much she deserved this award. She was nominated by her classmates, and they voted for her, showing how much respect she has from her classmates. It was a wonderful way to end a tough stretch of classes and hard, rewarding work. That's my girl! Wahoo!

And now we're both trying to figure out again how to RELAX! We're headed to the beach this week, and I'm hoping to go down on Wednesday if I can get permission to "work at home" for work (I can't really afford to miss much more work).

Now I need to go back to recovering from being out until 3 a.m. on Friday night. I don't know HOW we used to go out drinking and dancing like that back in the day...
