Gunning for the Buddha: The Collection

Well, thanks to a tip from Nick Kaufmann, who's still talking to me even after my antics at WFC on Saturday night, I queried Sean Wallace at Prime Books to see if he had any interest in a collection of stories written by me, covering a range of genres from SF to fantasy to horror, and all points in between.

After just a day or two, I heard back from Sean today: he's interested in publishing both a trade hardcover and trade paperback, with a release date of mid 2004.

Title? Gunning for the Buddha.

Hell yeah!

Huge thanks to Nick as well as trailblazers Nick Mamatas and Tim Pratt, whose collection-publishing progress I tracked on their journals. Thanks dudes! And thanks also to S1ngularity editor Gabe Chouinard for buying the title story and publishing it at his site.

Sean at Prime doesn't waste any time, either. Half an hour after emailing me, he sent out the Prime Newsletter with Gunning for the Buddha listed as the most recent acquisition. And he even has a mockup of the cover art, which I just had to share:

So by next summer, I'll have my first honest-to-garsh book out. Yeah baby!
