Three-Day Weekend (That's What the Freak I'm Talkin' 'Bout)

Yesterday was one of those non-stop busy, productive days that sort of leave you a quivering mass of spent brain cells by about 9 p.m. Of course, the fact that I woke up at 3:30 yesterday morning and couldn't get back to sleep didn't help.

But instead of tossing and turning I just got my ass out of bed and pretty much finished most of the outline to the baseball novel, and also did a shitload of research on the real players I'm writing about (the team is made up of about half a dozen real players and another half dozen who only exist in my head). I'm really close to being ready to start drafting -- just have to add a whole bunch of mini-conflicts among the characters to go along with the main, overarching conflict of the protagonist.

Since it's a baseball novel, I'll probably add a starting lineup to the All Nations page.

I'm also trying to figure out a way to work a zeppelin into the story, as the story takes place during the leadup to World War I. ;)

All I have to do is get through today at work (I worked from home yesterday, and it was grand! And I actually got a lot of good work done, for work even!), and then I can enjoy a well-deserved three-day weekend with Elizabeth. Everyone who's headed to Madison, Wisconsin (or if you're already there!), have fun at WisCon. Maybe next year for me... Later!

Now Playing:
"Riviera," Big Head Todd and the Monsters

Now Reading:
Iowa Baseball Confederacy, WP Kinsella
