Thanks, I needed that mention

Life has some nice twists for ya when you're not expecting them. Thanks a tip from Jason, who has an extensive list on his journal, I learned this morning that THREE of my stories published last year earned an Honorable Mention in the most recent Year's Best Fantasy and Horror anthology. Sweet!

Now, there are a pile of Honorable Mentions, 17 pages or so of 'em, but still, it's nice to be noticed.

The three stories were: my collaboration with Tim "I Got a Handful of Honorables Myself" Pratt entitled "Helljack," my alternate history tale featuring a dead president entitled "The Disillusionist," and the title story to my collection, the nihilistic time-travel tale "Gunning for the Buddha." Very cool.

And man, that's quite a list of Honorable Mentions (HMs) over on Jason's site -- lots of folks I know or have met via journals or email, lots of good writers.

So we'll be celebrating tonight in Raleigh, as Elizabeth and I are meeting Tim and Heather (two HMs) and Jason (one HM) and Janet at the Irregardless Cafe in downtown Raleigh. I'm almost done with all my workshop-related work, so I'll be ready to kick back with my fellow creative types. Later!
