Roll on over, son! (now with photos!)

I swear, our kid is a genius. Or a gymnast. This morning he was doing his best to roll over, at barely 2 months of age. I don't know what the age is for rolling over, but he's got to be ahead of schedule, right? Of course, he's only going from his belly to his back, which is easy to do when most of your weight is located in your big ol' noggin.

For example:
Helloooo world!

But it's tiring:Give me one second to catch my breath...

Drew's also been lifting his head like a prairie dog poking out from his hole like crazy lately. Then he'll lose it and his head will either slowly lower or just flop in exhaustion. He has also learned how to squeal. What an amazing little critter he is.

The last few days have been a bit nutty, as we decided the day care we were going to take him to in late March totally SUCKED. So we (I should say Elizabeth) has been wracking our brains to come up with alternatives. I think we're getting close -- we're both going to change up our work schedules and do part-time day care at a much nicer place closer to home. We also finished up our taxes (come on refund!) and are in the process of refinancing the Jasper homestead. Elizabeth has been great at organizing all this, especially the financial stuff, which I hate with a passion.

I did get some cool news from Sean Wallace at Prime about my collection -- not only did he share with me a list of about 20 places that he sent copies of the book for reviewing purposes, but he also confirmed that the always-wonderful LOCUS Magazine will be reviewing Gunning! Sweet.

Oh, and I'll be sending out my SF novel to another Major Publisher for a look-see. They want to see the whole works. Double-sweet. Now to track down an agent...

Finally, I'm back on the baseball novel revising, thanks to some excellents comments from fellow writer Paul Martens, he of my Writers of the Future class of '00. I missed the last few early morning sessions due to a cold, but I think I've got the sore throat and sniffles beaten back, for now. I hope to get through some more revs this weekend, so I can work on those 2 story ideas I had for anthos, whose due dates are fast approaching. Time just keeps a-rollin' along, it seems, just like little Drew... Later!
