Success (Or, Thank You, Google!) -- UPDATED

Ah, nothing like three cups of coffee after waking up at 4:30 a.m. and working for a good three hours. Hmm... One cup of coffee an hour. Not a bad rate.

I got going on my revisions today, adding that new scene that I came across this weekend doing research, and I missed my workout (again). Ah well, it was worth it. Here's a little taste (from the baseball novel):

"In the moment before the bat and ball struck the glass rectangle of the windshield, I got a good look at the five men in the car. Their white faces were twisted with rage, and they wore collarless shirts and crooked driving caps, looking like oversized schoolboys except for their bottles of liquor and the tiny black gun in the hand of the man in the passenger seat."

Fun stuff. I'm quite enjoying the revising of this book, and the next chapter gets even crazier, with four games on the fourth of July and Jack Johnson's cameo and a vision quest by one of the players...

In other news, on this Valentine's Day, Drew gets to celebrate his two-month birthday by getting... SHOTS. Four of 'em. Yikes.

Everyone says this is harder on the parents than the kids. I'll let you know. Lizzie and I are not looking forward to this doctor's visit. We've already prepped the little man with some Tylenol drops. Wish us luck. Later!

UPDATE -- Drew got his four shots, and took 'em like a big boy (yeah, it WAS harder on Mom and Dad, I think). Plus Dad had to get a flu shot as well. Owww. Stupid shots!

The youngster weighed in at 14.6 pounds and is officially two feet tall now! Sweet. And his noggin is in the 98th percentile, baby.
