Monday-Morning Decisions...

Decided at the last minute today (well, it was pretty much decided yesterday, when I was too busy and worn out to type) that I was not going to finish my mini-epic after all. Oh well -- I've got some cool novel ideas in there for an alternate-world fantasy, so it may be my next novel after the baseball novel (I'm thinking it's going to be YA fantasy, just for kicks).

I actually feel a bit relieved now -- I was going a bit nuts last week, trying to squeeze this project onto my plate, stealing time here and there to putter around with it as well as trying to tweak the opening to the baseball novel. I'm not so good at multi-tasking anymore -- I think I'm getting old, man. But I'm forging on with the baseball novel, and looking forward to it.

Spent a good bit of time this weekend watching NCAA basketball. The thing with watching sports, to me, is that it's not fun watching a team if you don't know the players. Of course I got into the Carolina game, but I also liked watching other ACC teams playing (why won't Dook lose? Why?) because I knew some of the players. But to just watch a game for the sake of the game? Nah. Not interested.

I can't tell you how glad I am that this is the first day of spring. It's so nice taking the dog for a walk at night without having to pull on a sweatshirt and coat. Now we just need the days to get longer...

Sheesh. Even I'm bored by this journal entry. Later!
