Can't Pass Up a Dare (even if it's an Anti-Dare)

Well, thanks to the clever idea by journaler extraordinaire Jenn, I'm going to do another Dare, starting tomorrow and running until May 15th, if not longer.

But unlike the various writing Dares I've done in the past, I want to do something different. I've been somewhat burnt out on my current novel, and writing in general, to be honest, for the past few weeks, so I'm going to Dare to be Different.

I'm not going to write during this Dare. I'm going to do the things I really want to do, but never seem to make time for in my daily life. Some days I get around to doing these things, but I want to make all of them an integral part of my life.

So... Following Jenn's lead...

Between April 15th and May 15th, I will do the following every day:

* Read at least two books out loud to Drew
* Read at least one story or one novel chapter
* Work out/exercise for at least 45 minutes
* Practice guitar for at least 15 minutes

That oughta keep me out of trouble, at least in the next month. Thanks, Jenn, for the cool idea. I need this to shake up my old bones...

Just for the heck of it, I thought I'd see how I did for today, the day before the Dare...

-- DARE STATS FOR THE DAY --
* Books Read to Drew
: Green Eggs and Ham, Where the Wild Things Are
* Story or Chapter Read: "Bugs," James Blaylock; a chapter of a friend's novel-in-progress
* Type of Exercise: Cutting lawn, 60 minutes
* Guitar-Playing Time: 0 minutes (I ran outta time!)
