Just finished up another chapter of the book, and I've got one more chapter to draft before I'm done with the opening act. It's moving right along now. I just have to figure out in this latest chapter how to get a tame jaguar to communicate with a five-year-old boy...

Ever since working out and jogging more this past week or so, I've had tons more energy, and the writing has been going on swimmingly. Getting up at 4:30 a.m. isn't so hard now... I've even dropped some weight, and plan to lose more.

I also had time to read and crit some writing by my fellow writers, three different pieces by my ragtag crew of first readers for the Sixteen Miles novel. Great stuff, and as always, reading the work of other writers inspires ME.

And to top it all off, I had a fun day with Mr. Drew yesterday while Elizabeth was off at work. The kid is getting some kind of personality, let me tell you. His latest thing is to pull himself up to his feet next to a coach or chair, mess around for a while, then squal until he gets down -- he's taken a couple tumbles already. He's a happy, happy fella. We're still counting those blessings... Later!
