About to write myself into a corner, methinks
Sixteen Miles progress:
Still piddling around with the current chapter of the novel when I know I should just put X and Y in there and move on. I did come up with a good way for my arthritic jaguar and my five-year-old wanderer to communicate (think moving spots). So a good day, but I'm worried I may have written myself into a corner and will have to do some re-jiggering to get this chapter to end the way it should.
It's kind of fun to play around with stuff like this, but only for so long. Then it just becomes annoying. Stupid plot points!
Meanwhile, Mr. Drew had his nine-month checkup, and he's up to almost 23 lbs. and 29 inches. Not bad (though I'm a bit worried that he's no longer in the 95th percentile like he was at six months -- that's what happens when you crawl and "cruise" all the time, I guess -- you drop to the 75th percentile with your lean, mean infant self).
Speaking of, I need to get outta here and go see him and his mama. It's been a nutty day. Later.
