Sometimes you've just gotta go with the feeling.

Last night, after we'd gotten back from Durham and the special brand of hell that is a shopping mall on a Saturday night on the wrong side of xmas season, I found the mailbox stuffed full, thanks to a 400-page manuscript jammed inside of it.

Alas and alack, it was my own -- Algonquin books passed on The All Nations Team. Damn it.

To add insult to injury, the editor got the name of the book wrong in her rejection letter, calling it ALL THE NATIONS TEAM. Some editor! Hah.

So, to make myself feel better, after checking with Lizzie one last time before clicking the Purchase button, we went ahead and ordered the tricked-out iMac G5, with 1.5GB SDRAM, a 500GB Hard Drive, iSight (for video calls) and a SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD+RW/CD-RW). It's gonna be a monster. Oh, and we also bought a cheapie picture printer. And a 30GB iPod.

I feel much better now, even if we had to put it on an Apple Store credit card (credit cards = the Enemy). Later!
