Goals for 2006

Most of the housework is done, inside and out, and our old house will go up for sale some time next week. I had a great day off with Drew, hanging out with some good books and toys in between his naps and a trip to get groceries (sadly, Lizzie had to work!). All the loan paperwork, phones calls, appointments, and miscellaneous running-around and chores for the house have been finished.

And, best of all, I started working on a brand-new story for an anthology I was invited to submit to, so I'm feeling extra cocky.

So why not roll out the next list of stuff I wanna do in the New Year?

  1. Stress out less.
  2. Enjoy every moment with Lizzie and Drew, and start thinking about Drew's new younger brother or sister...
  3. Finish my novel Sixteen Miles (Lizzie likes this version over the longer version, Sixteen Miles from Everywhere, and I kinda do too).
  4. Sell two novels. I have two ready to sell now, and I'll have the third finished in a few months.
  5. Start a new novel. No idea what it'll be -- maybe space opera, maybe historical fiction, maybe young-adult, maybe a rewrite of the sorcerer novel, maybe something totally new.
  6. Write six stories. I miss writing more stories.
  7. Lose thirty more pounds. The first 25 came off pretty easily. We'll see 'bout those last few...
  8. Write two screenplays. Right now I want to try adapting the Wannoshay novel and the All Nations novel. This year I finally will teach myself how to do it.
  9. Read two novels a month. And don't buy any more new ones until I finish my To-Be-Read Pile.
  10. Continue making major headway with our debts.
That's 2006 for me. Should be a fun one. Later!
