Half-cafs, Taps, Drinkers, Dunks

Still working on minimal caffeine, so I'll keep this short and to the point. I'm nursing a half-caf drink right now. So lay off already. Grr.

I think I've realized why I've been having trouble writing at home on the shiny new iMac -- I can't stand the keyboard. Not crazy about the mouse either. I mean, Apple has hardly changed the layout and feel of the keyboard since the Apple IIc+, which I remember using in high school, and that was almost 20 years ago! Ow. It hurts using it. I think it's because my desk has a built-in wrist pad, and the angle of the Apple keyboard and its shorter footprint just doesn't want to cooperate.

What I'd really like is the same keyboard I have at work, but made for Apple, because, well, I'm used to using a Windows keyboard.

I can't seem to find a decent equivalent keyboard for the iMac. Any suggestions? Right now typing isn't much fun on the new shiny system...

In happier news, I'm this close to finishing my Drinker story, and all I have to do is add a bit more details here and there, and it'll be ready to share with a couple first readers (volunteers always welcome, of course!). Then it's off to the editor... woo woo!

And finally, tonight Elizabeth and I are off to the Carolina-Boston College basketball game over in Chapel Hill, thanks to tix scored from our friend Clarke. Drew gets to chill with his Mimi and Poppy (I wish we could take him along, but he'd be getting quite grumpy by tipoff, which is at 9 p.m.). Look for us under the goal, about five rows back (yeah, they're good seats!). We'll be wearing Carolina blue and jumping up and down a lot. Later!
