A break from the dancing fake cows

Okay, the Olympic opening ceremony has been... well, weird. When they brought out the fake cows and started pulling them around, I figured it was time for a break. Elizabeth had already fallen asleep.

So I figured I'd get caught up on my novel, doing a quick skim of the chapters thus far (how quickly we forget). I had a hellish week at work, with more hell to come for the next few weeks, so I've got a big mug of wine and I plan on taking it easy for a bit. Oh, and I finally gave in to temptation and put in an order at Night Shade Books for their half-off sale. Sale lasts a couple more hours, so get to it!

(I picked up Doug Lain's Last Week's Apocalypse and Liz Williams' Snake Agent, and pre-ordered Tim's Hart & Boot & Other Stories as well as Elizabeth Bear's The Chains That You Refuse. Spent almost all of my money I made off my Russian reprint sale, too!)

And now, back to Sixteen Miles. Later!
