Too lazy for a real entry

Instead of doing a detailed entry, here's the very last thing I wrote today before stopping to start our more or less busy Saturday (only two more weeks 'til we move to the new house!):
You don't really appreciate the sight of true devastation until you have it pressed up right in front of you like this. You arrive face-first at the details, like the broken timbers splintered like toothpicks from the rupturing of the bridge's infrastructure. You can stop and think about how that thick slab of wood, now broken, was once a tree busting out from the ground, adding more and more layers with each passing year. And the bent and rusting metal that had once been shaped and assembled by welders. And the vast emptiness of the whole structure, how nothing but dead air now hangs where a bridge once stood, moving people from here to there without any apparent effort.
