Two Houses, Not Divided

The closing went well yesterday, so now we are the proud owners of two houses! At least for a week, 'til we sell off the Love Shack on the 30th. Then I will really be ready to PARTY. Last night was nice enough, though -- we had margaritas and Mexican food with Drew and his Aunt Clarke, who babysat while Lizzie and I were at the closing (for exactly two hours).

Well, okay, Drew didn't have a margarita, but he chowed on a chicken quesadilla.

One of the many nice things about being married to my lovely wife is that she made us an extra $500 last night at the closing -- the builders had forgotten about a credit for one of the many checks we'd paid to them in early January for various "options" on the house. I'd forgotten about it too, but luckily I'd brought some of the reams of paperwork with me, and the pages I had contained photocopies of the check. Sweet. We'll be getting a nice check today, which will include all of our earnest money back to us. Gotta love negative closing costs!

And now I feel myself starting to wind down from this crazy month. I slept in this morning, am having trouble getting jump-started for the various projects I need to finish at work, and I'm just waiting for Saturday so we can load up everything and MOVE.

The plan is to regain some semblance of normalcy by the first of April... Later!
